Sony VMC-MD2 cable: which Cyber-shot cameras use it
The VMC-MD2 is a Sony multi-terminal cable for USB, A/V out and DC-in power, 1.5 m long and about 120 g. Sony Japan lists eight Cyber-shot compacts for it: the H55, HX1, HX5V, T900, TX7, TX9, W220 and W270.
Sony Japan's wording for the VMC-MD2 matches the VMC-MD1 except that it does not say the A/V output is standard definition, and the cable is listed as heavier (about 120 g against about 100 g). Sony UK has a support page for it titled 'MD2 Connecting cable'. Three of the eight cameras (T900, TX7, TX9) come with a multi-output stand and separate USB and AV cables, according to the Sony Japan product listing.

What Sony's page says
Sony Japan's feature lines for the VMC-MD2, as published (Japanese):

In English: the cable works with the AC-LS5A AC adaptor to power the camera, and one cable gives USB, A/V out and DC-in power. Sony shows a list price of 4,400 yen and marks the cable as discontinued.
What nobody states
- Sony does not say why it issued a second cable, what differs in the plug, or whether the VMC-MD1 and VMC-MD2 interchange. Sony Japan puts the two lists side by side with no camera on both.
- Sony's manuals label the Multi connector of these cameras Type2b (one camera) or Type2c (three) or give no Type label (four), yet Sony Japan lists one cable for all of them.
- Sony's list is for Cyber-shots sold in Japan; we could not search Sony's tool for other regions.
- Sellers list the VMC-MD2 for cameras such as the H20 and W210; Sony Japan does not.
