Digicam Atlas open datasets

Digicam Atlas publishes 8 free CSV datasets about old compact digital cameras: canon battery codes; canon compact camera names by region (PowerShot / ELPH, IXUS, IXY); canon release dates; canon sensor types; digicam batteries; digicam cable codes by camera; uS launch prices of popular digital compacts, 2006-2016; memory cards named by the maker for compact digital cameras. Every row names its source, and rows we could not verify are labelled or left out. You may reuse them under CC BY 4.0 with a link back to digicamatlas.com.

How can I cite or reuse this data?

Link to the dataset page or the CSV and credit "Digicam Atlas (digicamatlas.com)". The camera facts themselves come from the makers' own documents, which are named on each row; we license our selection, checking and labelling, not the makers' documents. Where a row says "unconfirmed", no maker document states the fact and we have not guessed it.

How are rows checked?

Each row cites a source URL. The build re-fetches or re-reads those sources, and a row is published only when the check passes. Retailer listings and forum posts are not accepted as evidence. If you find a wrong row, tell us using the contact details on the About page and we will correct it and say so.

Digicam cable codes by camera

Each row is: one camera (or camera family) with the USB / A/V cable code its maker names, the basis, a status (confirmed, partly confirmed, unconfirmed) and the source URL
Columns: brand, camera, other_names, year, cable_codes, basis, status, source_url
Facts come from: maker manuals and support tables (for example Nikon's own USB cable table, Canon Japan's IFC-400PCU FAQ, the OM System USB cable compatibility table); retailer lists are never used as evidence

Memory cards named by the maker for compact digital cameras

Each row is: one camera with its card types, the largest card the maker states (in the maker's words), a status and the manual or maker table it came from
Columns: brand, camera, other_names, year, card_types, highest_card_class, largest_card_maker_words, status, source_label, source_url, review_page
Facts come from: maker manuals and maker compatibility charts; capacities are never inferred from the card family; rows whose source did not re-verify are held back
